Desiree Glazier-Nazro is an extremely versatile percussionist bringing her classical training and her love of pop together with perfect execution. She has had the pleasure of performing with and under amazing artists such as John Williams, Tony Bennet, Hugh Jackman, Andy Williams, Bobby McFerren, Warren Haynes, Diana Krall, Christian McBride, Vinnie Colaiuta, Peter Erskine, Ray Barretto, Quincy Jones, "Weird Al", Abe Laboriel Sr. and Jr , Michael Giacchino, Gunther Schuller and Patrick Williams to name a few.
Desiree's diverse career includes playing percussion for many shows, including Rocktopia, The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses and 4U: The Music of Prince with Symphony as well as many musicals. With her varied musical training she is able to seamlessly leave the pop/musical theater setting and enter the classical music world to freelance in large and small orchestras such as Handel and Haydn Society and especially loves playing timpani in several smaller chamber groups and choirs.
An entirely different avenue of Desiree's musical life is being co-founder and lead pan player of Steel Rhythm. Desiree, with her drummer husband Adam Nazro, formed the group in 2006 and have played for thousands of audiences ever since. They were honored to play at Fenway Park in 2018 for the "Pre World Series Gala" and for The New England Patriots Cheerleaders "Calendar Launch Party." Steel Rhythm can be heard on all streaming services including their YouTube channel which has more than 1 million views!
Desiree has degrees from The Hartt School of Music (summa cum laude) and The Boston Conservatory. Along with her passion for music, Desiree also enjoys traveling, skiing, running (3 marathons) and spending time with family and friends.
