Desirée Glazier-Nazro is an exceptionally versatile percussionist with a dynamic and wide-ranging career. She has had the honor of performing with legendary artists including The Beach Boys, Tony Bennett, Hugh Jackman, Andrea Bocelli, Andy Williams, Kristin Chenoweth, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Audra McDonald , Quincy Jones and Bobby McFerrin.
Her performance work spans Broadway national tours, star attractions, multimedia symphonic concerts (Final Fantasy, Sonic, Anime, The Legend of Zelda, Rocktopia), and more than 50 musical theater productions. Desirée is also a regular performer with many of Boston’s premier orchestral ensembles, including the Handel and Haydn Society and Boston Baroque.
She is the orchestra contractor for The Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston and has contracted national tours including Parade and Into the Woods. Recently, she was the percussionist and orchestra contractor for the 2024 Pre-Broadway world premiere of The Queen of Versailles starring Kristin Chenoweth with music composed by Steven Schwartz.
In addition to her orchestral work, Desirée is the co-founder and lead pan player of Steel Rhythm, a steel drum band she created with her husband, drummer Adam Nazro, in 2006. Together, they’ve captivated audiences at events like the Pre-World Series Gala at Fenway Park and the New England Patriots Cheerleaders’ Calendar Launch Party. Steel Rhythm has earned a global following with over 10 million YouTube views and 207,000 monthly listeners on Pandora.
Desirée holds degrees from The Hartt School of Music (summa cum laude) and The Boston Conservatory. Beyond music, she enjoys traveling, skiing, running (she’s completed three marathons!), and spending quality time with family and friends.
